Yankees third basemen Chase Headley is not in the lineup for the second straight day due to a knee injury. Cole Figueroa is batting ninth in his place and playing third base against Jesse Chavez and the Athletics.
As Headley said last night “The MRI showed inflammation behind the knee, hopefully it’s better in a day or so and we can have some clarity. I would be surprised if I played Thursday.’’ It's safe to say Headley's injury is a cause for concern, and we'll keep you updated on his status. Due to his spot in the lineup, Cole Figueroa is not a recommended fantasy option. He hit .317/.372/.415 in the minors this year but is only 10-for-43 in his time in the majors.
