Washington Nationals pitcher Max Scherzer (back) reportedly wants to start in Sunday's matchup against the Milwaukee Brewers.
After pitching two innings in a simulated game on Tuesday, Scherzer is ready to return to the active roster and wants to skip a rehab assignment. Expect an official update soon if the Washington ace will start.
Through 134.1 innings pitched this season, Scherzer has produced a 2.40 ERA and 189 strikeouts.
