The New York Mets placed second baseman Robinson Cano on the 10-day injured list with a left hamstring strain.
Cano suffered the injury while running the bases on Sunday against the Pittsburgh Pirates. He finished 3-for-3 with a pair of doubles, an RBI, and 2 runs scored in the victory. The 36-year-old veteran has boosted his batting average from .222 to .252 since the end of June, but he's now set to miss multiple weeks.
Cano owns a career-low .710 OPS with 10 homers, 23 doubles, 32 RBI, and 37 runs scored in 346 plate appearances (86 games) this season.
