The Chicago Cubs activated catcher Willson Contreras from the 10-day injured list.
Contreras missed the minimum 10 days due to a strain in the arch muscle in his right foot. He's catching Tyler Chatwood and hitting fifth in Wednesday afternoon's series finale versus right-hander Tyler Beede and the San Francisco Giants. Victor Caratini is available off the bench. The Cubs optioned Addison Russell to Triple-A Iowa in a corresponding roster move.
