Tampa Bay Rays starting pitcher Tyler Glasnow will be shut down for the next 3 weeks after an MRI revealed right flexor inflammation.
Glasnow has already been out the past six weeks with what was initially described as a forearm strain, but he required the recent MRI after experiencing discomfort while throwing on Sunday. The 25-year-old right-hander will now likely remain on the shelf until at least August.
Glasnow is 6-1 in eight starts this season. He owns a 1.86 ERA and 0.91 WHIP with 55 strikeouts and 9 walks over 48 1/3 innings.
