The Milwaukee Brewers placed starting pitcher Jhoulys Chacin on the 10-day injured list, retroactive to June 1, with a lower back strain.
Chacin apparently tweaked his back during an at-bat Friday and it stiffened up on him while he was playing catch Saturday. It's not clear how much time the 31-year-old right-hander will miss. Freddy Peralta is expected to rejoin the Brewers' rotation to fill the void.
Chacin owns a 5.74 ERA and 1.48 WHIP with 44 strikeouts and 29 walks across 58 innings this season. He's 3-7 in 12 starts.
