New York Yankees reliever Dellin Betances has been diagnosed with a right shoulder impingement.
Betances informed the Yankees he has felt weaker than normal this spring and can't fully extend while pitching. Turning 31 on Saturday, the right-handed setup man will start the season on the injured list and doesn't have a timetable to return.
Betances recorded a 2.70 ERA and 115 strikeouts with 4 saves over 66 2/3 innings last season.
