MLB Daily Fantasy Helper: Monday 9/4/17
Rich Hill has been red-hot in the second half, and he gets a home matchup against an Arizona Diamondbacks offense that's not nearly as scary away from Chase Field.

The beauty of daily fantasy baseball is that the top targets are different each and every day. Whether it's the right-handed catcher who destroys left-handed pitching or the mid-range hurler facing a depleted lineup, you're not going to find yourself using the same assets time after time.

While this breaks up the monotony, it can make it hard to decide which players are primed to succeed on a given day. We can help bridge that gap.

In addition to our custom optimal lineups, you can check out our batting and pitching heat maps, which show the pieces in the best spot to succeed on that slate. Put on the finishing touches with our games and lineups page to see who's hitting where and what the weather looks like, and you'll have yourself a snazzy looking team to put up some big point totals.

If you need help getting started on that trek, here are some of the top options on the board today. We'll be focusing exclusively on the main slate, which begins at 7:10 p.m. EST and includes five games.

Pitchers to Target

Rich Hill ($9,000 on FanDuel): Hill's season-long numbers -- 28.5% strikeout rate, 9.3% walk rate and 10.9% swinging-strike rate -- are pretty tasty, and he's taken it to another level in the second half. Since the break, he owns a 30.1% strikeout rate and 6.5% walk rate across 45 2/3 innings. The Arizona Diamondbacks can hit, and they have some lefty-mashers in J.D. Martinez and Paul Goldschmidt, but as a team, they're not nearly as potent away from home, posting a .301 wOBA on the road (compared to a .354 wOBA at home). The D-Backs' implied total of 3.43 is the night's lowest mark, and our models have Hill as the clear-cut top option on tonight's five-game main slate.
