MLB Daily Fantasy Helper: Monday 5/29/17 Early Slate
Carlos Carrasco has gotten roughed up in each of his past two outings. Can we trust him in daily fantasy baseball for Monday's early slate?

The beauty of daily fantasy baseball is that the top targets are different each and every day. Whether it's the right-handed catcher who destroys left-handed pitching or the mid-range hurler facing a depleted lineup, you're not going to find yourself using the same assets time after time.

While this breaks up the monotony, it can make it hard to decide which players are primed to succeed on a given day. We can help bridge that gap.

In addition to our custom optimal lineups, you can check out our batting and pitching heat maps, which show the pieces in the best spot to succeed on that slate. Put on the finishing touches with our games and lineups page to see who's hitting where and what the weather looks like, and you'll have yourself a snazzy looking team to put up some big point totals.

If you need help getting started on that trek, here are some of the top options on the board today. This breakdown will be focusing exclusively on the early slate beginning at 2:10 pm Eastern.

Pitchers to Target

High-Priced Pitchers

Carlos Carrasco ($10,300 on FanDuel): Carlos Carrasco's past two starts are likely ones he'd prefer to forget, but they're not enough to keep him from being the top arm on the early slate. Even when you include those outings, Carrasco enters Monday with a 3.43 SIERA, 26.0% strikeout rate, and 6.7% walk rate. He gives his floor an additional boost by holding opponents to a 29.3% hard-hit rate with a 46.2% walk rate. The opposing Oakland Athletics make solid contact against righties, but they also possess a 23.5% strikeout rate, making Carrasco the guy we want on this slate if we're looking for upside.
