MLB Daily Fantasy Helper: Saturday 5/6/17
Clayton Kershaw is on the bump today, and he has a superb matchup against the Padres at Petco Park. Are there any reasons to consider pivoting off him to roster one of the mortal pitching options?

The beauty of daily fantasy baseball is that the top targets are different each and every day. Whether it's the right-handed catcher who destroys left-handed pitching or the mid-range hurler facing a depleted lineup, you're not going to find yourself using the same assets time after time.

While this breaks up the monotony, it can make it hard to decide which players are primed to succeed on a given day. We can help bridge that gap.

In addition to our custom optimal lineups, you can check out our batting and pitching heat maps, which show the pieces in the best spot to succeed on that slate. Put on the finishing touches with our games and lineups page to see who's hitting where and what the weather looks like, and you'll have yourself a snazzy looking team to put up some big point totals.

If you need help getting started on that trek, here are some of the top options on the board today. We'll be focusing exclusively on the main slate, which begins at 7:05 p.m. EST and includes the day's final 12 games.

Pitchers to Target

High-Priced Pitchers

Clayton Kershaw ($12,300 on FanDuel): First of all, it's Kershaw. Secondly, it's Kershaw against the San Diego Padres. Lastly, it's Kershaw versus the Padres at Petco. Kershaw owns a 27.7% strikeout rate with a 1.9% walk rate -- he's a cheat code. San Diego checks in 28th in overall wOBA (.285) -- with a .255 wOBA versus lefties -- and they have the third-highest strikeout rate (24.9%) in baseball. Petco ranks 24th in park factor over the past three years. There's nothing but checked boxes here, and our models project Kershaw to score 37.5 FanDuel points, 5 more than any other hurler.
