3 Daily Fantasy Baseball Players to Avoid on 5/1/19

Max Scherzer, SP, Washington Nationals

FanDuel Price: $11,600

Despite featuring a far smaller slate than yesterday, there's a bevy of expensive aces (five) priced above $10,000 today, including uber-ace Max Scherzer of the Washington Nationals. But is he an auto-play as the top dog by price and name?

Not exactly.

Tonight, after losing the first two games in the series, the Nats will look to attack the St. Louis Cardinals, but that's no small feat. Over the last two weeks, the Cards' offense leads the league in wOBA (.354) and have cut down their strikeouts significantly to only 17.5%.

Generally, Mad Max provides all of the whiffing upside, given that he has struck out seven or more batters in each of his six starts this season. However, he also looks to be in a bit of a tight spot against a clicking offense, and spending elsewhere seems to make sense given the landscape of this pitching pool.
