Corey Kluber checks a ton of boxes tonight, but the weather forecast in Cleveland is terrible for tonight, making him far too risky.

Justin Verlander may be ceding a higher implied total than Kluber (3.92 runs), but he and the Houston Astros are the biggest favorites on the slate, with a -225 moneyline.

Verlander hasn't opened 2019 with quite as impressive numbers as he posted in 2018, but his 3.13 skill-interactive ERA (SIERA) and 31.3% strikeout rate (backed by a 13.4% swinging-strike rate) are still studly marks.

His matchup with the Texas Rangers may hurt his floor a bit, as they've flexed some above-average power on the year, but their 25.0% strikeout rate is also tied for the ninth on the Majors.
