5 Daily Fantasy Baseball Value Plays for 3/28/19
Daniel Palka made some great contact in 2018, giving him big upside on Opening Day. Where else can you find value on Thursday?

Daniel Palka, OF, Chicago White Sox

Price: $2,500

Hitting in a shaky Chicago White Sox offense in 2018, Daniel Palka turned in some highly encouraging numbers as a rookie.

He made 449 plate appearances, and while his .329 wOBA and 34.1% strikeout rate show some inconsistency and a low floor, his 36.4% hard-hit rate and .245 isolated power (ISO) make up for that with some big upside.

His platoon splits were also quite pronounced, and in his 366 plate appearances against right-handed pitchers he upped that hard-hit rate to 37.2% with a 40.4% fly-ball rate. His strikeout rate was still high in that split (32.5%), but his wOBA climbed to a more respectable .345 and his ISO jumped to .278.

He'll open the season with the platoon advantage against Kansas City Royals righty Brad Keller, who posted a shaky 4.62 xFIP against left-handed bats as a rookie in 2018.

Palka's floor still isn't anything to write home about, but he's a nice cheap way to get some home run upside in your lineup.
