The light bulb seems to have gone on for Alex Cobb, and over his recent starting turns, he has been absolutely brilliant.

Over Cobb's last three starts, he has changed his pitch mix from a predominantly fastball offering (51.2% in 2018) to more off-speed items (32.9% fastballs). The change has worked to great effect, as Cobb has recorded an increased swinging-strike rate (9.1%), along with a 27.9% hard-hit rate and 3.97 xFIP.

Cobb does face a New York Yankees lineup that's been strong in 2018, ranking second in team wOBA (.335). But if he can replicate his recent performances, he makes for a sneaky start, and can take advantage of the Yankees' 22.7% strikeout rate.
