5 Daily Fantasy Baseball Value Plays for 8/13/18
Jedd Gyorko's power puts him in a great spot against Tommy Milone. Which other low-cost bats should you target on Monday?

Jedd Gyorko, 3B, St. Louis Cardinals

Price: $2,900

The St. Louis Cardinals' 4.53 implied total isn't a huge mark, but Monday's slate isn't likely to be especially scoring-heavy, so that's still good for a top-five mark for the day.

They find themselves in a matchup with Washington Nationals southpaw Tommy Milone, who has looked dangerous through his three Major League games in 2018 but who is also coming off a 2017 campaign that saw him post a 4.72 skill-interactive ERA (SIERA). That mark followed a 4.61 SIERA in 2016, 4.39 in 2015 and 4.57 in 2014, so it's unlikely that the 31-year-old Milone will continue to look as deadly as he has over this year's small sample.

Jedd Gyorko has seen his production drop a bit this season, but he's crushing baseballs to the tune of career-best clips in both hard-hit rate (36.8%) and fly-ball rate (41.6%) while posting his lowest soft-hit rate (16.3%) since 2015.

He has also been hugely productive in his 81 plate appearances against southpaws, racking up a .424 wOBA and .271 ISO on a 43.3% hard-hit rate.
