3 Under-the-Radar MLB FanDuel Plays for 4/4/18
With limited options at second base, Yoan Moncada makes for a nice alternative on FanDuel's main slate.

Nolan Arenado, 3B, Colorado Rockies

FanDuel Price: $4,500

It's not that Nolan Arenado is truly sneaking by anyone on a five-game slate, particularly with the platoon advantage against Clayton Richard, but Josh Donaldson is in such an obvious spot against Carson Fulmer that he'll almost certainly grab the bulk of ownership at third base. Even considering the utility spot, people could still elect to go elsewhere for cheaper options like Justin Smoak, Matt Carpenter, or Matt Olson, who are all in good matchups. The Colorado Rockies also have just a 4.19 implied team total.

Thus, the matchup isn't perfect for Arenado considering the park downgrade and Richard's high ground-ball rate. However, against right-handers in 2017, Richard posted just a 13.9% strikeout rate while allowing a 37.8% hard-hit rate and .377 wOBA. Arenado's numbers naturally aren't as impressive outside Coors Field, but against a mediocre lefty, we'll still happily take his .368 wOBA and .248 isolated power (ISO) he provided while road-tripping last year.
