3 Daily Fantasy Baseball Value Plays for 9/15/17
With a 40.7% hard-hit rate against righties, Justin Smoak has big upside against Bartolo Colon and the Twins tonight. Who else should you target for big-time value in daily fantasy on Friday?

Justin Smoak, 1B, Toronto Blue Jays

FanDuel Price: $2,900

The Toronto Blue Jays offense has been clicking recently, with a pair of 7-plus run games in their last four outings. There's a lot to like about them tonight as they boast a solid 4.83 implied total in a matchup with Minnesota Twins righty Bartolo Colon.

While Colon put together a few solid outings in August, he gave up 6 runs in only 1 2/3 innings against the Kansas City Royals in his last start. The 44-year-old has an ugly 5.04 SIERA through 24 starts this season.

The switch-hitting Justin Smoak has been more productive against southpaws this year, but he hasn't been bad against right-handed pitching by any stretch, with a stellar batted-ball profile (40.7% hard-hit rate, 12.8% soft-hit rate and 44.3% fly-ball rate). His upside in a matchup like this is not at all reflected in his price tag.
