Daily Fantasy Baseball: Batted-Ball Positive Regression Candidates for Week 21
Yasiel Puig is due for some positive regression and has a chance for a big finish to August. Who else is due for a change in their batted-ball luck?

Joe Mauer, 1B, Minnesota Twins

We usually don't target Joe Mauer in daily fantasy baseball, but we might want to rethink that based on how he's been hitting the ball lately. So far in August, Mauer's average exit velocity is 93.8 mph, which is good enough for 10th in baseball during that span. Also, his hard-hit rate this month is a solid 43.4%, ranking among the top 25.

He has only one home run in this time, but more extra-base hits could be on the horizon for the Minnesota Twins first baseman. Mauer will see James Shields, Lucas Giolito, and Nick Tepesch this week. Since he typically sees lower ownership than fellow players at his position and regularly sits in the low $3,000's on FanDuel, he could be a great contrarian pick.
