3 Under-the-Radar Daily Fantasy Baseball Plays for 8/17/17
Facing Tyson Ross, who's working his way back from injury, Leury Garcia makes for a solid play. Who else could be a nice sleeper option?

Jhoulys Chacin, SP, San Diego Padres

FanDuel Price: $6,900

Why He Will Go Overlooked:

Three pitching options loom large at the top of the slate, and all should see high ownership. Luis Severino, Jeff Samardzija, and Aaron Nola, the only starters above $7,500, are sure to dominate the pitching choices.

San Diego Padres starter Jhoulys Chacin -- who's striking out only 19.4% of hitters -- will elicit far less interest.

Why You Should Use Him:

Despite a relatively-low strikeout rate, Chacin makes a solid play for a couple of reasons.

First, sans Bryce Harper, the Washington Nationals offense has gone into the tank. Over the last seven days, they rank 23rd in team wOBA (.306), and have whiffed 24.5 of the time.

Second, the Padres starter has been a beast at home. In 77 1/3 PetCo innings pitched, Chacin's delivered a 1.86 ERA and allowed hard contact only 26.5% of the time.

Take a long look at Chacin, who makes for a nice pivot at an affordable price.
