3 Daily Fantasy Baseball Players to Avoid on 8/14/17
Despite his cheap price, Yonder Alonso has yet to show that early-season magic in the second half, and he is in a tough spot against a rejuvenated Kevin Gausman.

Elvis Andrus, SS, Texas Rangers

FanDuel Price: $4,200

The Texas Rangers have a 5.56 implied team total against Michael Fulmer, who will be coming off the disabled list to make his first start since July 31st. Fulmer was struggling prior to his DL stint, but still has a respectable 4.32 SIERA, 29.8% hard-hit rate, and 49.7% ground-ball rate on the season. Thus, it may not be as cushy a spot as the total would indicate.

Additionally, most of the Rangers are expensive, and this is particularly the case for Elvis Andrus, who is the second-highest priced shortstop. Heck, he's even inexplicably priced higher than most of the guys in Coors Field.

Although Andrus has a career-high 15 home runs, he's posted just a 29.9% hard-hit rate and .290 expected weighted on-base average (xwOBA). Even when considering his speed -- which isn't factored into xwOBA -- those are hardly the marks of a DFS player priced over $4,000.
