Chris Taylor has been a solid contributor for the Los Angeles Dodgers, who have a 5.20 implied team total, so this is more about price than anything else.

At $3,700, Taylor is edging into elite bat territory, and he simply isn't on that level. Although he has a .375 wOBA, he's benefited from a fortuitous .404 BABIP, and his .326 expected weighted on-base average (xwOBA) comes closer to the real story. His 10 home runs and 12 stolen bases are nice and all, but a 27.8% strikeout rate gives us pause, and when paying this much you want to see a better hard-hit rate than 34.3%.

In all, you want more bang for your buck, especially if you plan to fit in the pricey Jacob deGrom.
