4 Daily Fantasy Baseball Players to Avoid on 6/27/17
Despite his plummeting price and a solid matchup, Gregory Polanco isn't showing signs of busting out of his season long slump, and we should continue avoiding him in MLB DFS.

Kenta Maeda, SP, Los Angeles Dodgers

FanDuel Price: $8,400

If you look at Kenta Maeda's peripherals, he certainly looks the part of a DFS-worthy pitcher as he owns a 24.9% strikeout rate, 25.7% hard-hit rate, and stellar 14.4% swinging-strike rate. The Los Angeles Angels have just a 3.55 implied team total against him.

But like pretty much all Los Angeles Dodgers starting pitchers not named Clayton Kershaw, Maeda doesn't go deep into games, which severely limits his upside, no matter what his numbers look like. He's surpassed five innings only twice in 11 starts, and he hasn't thrown over 100 pitches in an outing since early May. Considering he's bounced between the bullpen and rotation lately, this trend should continue, and he's unlikely to go long enough to qualify for a quality start.

On a slate with plenty of good pitching options at various price points, Maeda lacks the ceiling to consider tonight.
