3 Under-the-Radar Daily Fantasy Baseball Plays for 6/8/17
Seth Smith does work against right-handed pitchers, and he could be in for a big night against Joe Ross. Who else makes for a strong sleeper play?

Tyler Chatwood, SP, Colorado Rockies

FanDuel Price: $7,900

Why He Will Go Overlooked:

With a small slate, there's generally not a ton of great pitching options, but two in particular stand out today. Lance McCullers and Jon Lester are both high-priced studs over $9,500, and as heavy favorites, they should see a bunch of ownership.

Despite a recent strong run of starts, Tyler Chatwood faces an uphill battle against Lester and the Chicago Cubs, and he's not likely to be a popular play.

Why You Should Use Him:

While Chatwood will certainly have his work cut out for him, there's a lot of reasons to be bullish on him this evening.

He is a heavy underdog, but the Cubs have not been the strongest offense as of late. Over the last 14 days, the Cubs have posted a .300 team wOBA and the 11th-highest strikeout rate (23.1%).

Even though a 4.47 SIERA is pretty middle of the road for Chatwood, his batted-ball profile shows he's been pretty tough to hit. On the season, he's allowed a hard-hit rate of only 29.5% with a fly-ball rate of 21.3%. Chatwood was brilliant in his last start -- going eight innings and allowing four hits allowed while fanning eight against the San Diego Padres.

It certainly is a matchup with some stiff challenges, but given Chatwood's and Chicago's recent form, the Rockies' hurler has some appeal as a tourney play.
