4 Daily Fantasy Baseball Players to Avoid on 6/6/17
Masahiro Tanaka has had a miserable season, and it doesn't get any easier tonight against the Red Sox. Which other players should we fade on tonight's 15-game main slate?

After a brilliant 13-strikeout, 1-run outing against the Oakland Athletics, it looked like Masahiro Tanaka was finally turning the corner. Then he got lit up by the Baltimore Orioles for seven runs.

Considering his high BABIP (.339), inflated home-run-to-fly-ball rate (21.2%), and a low strand rate (68.1%), Tanaka has all the signs of a pitcher struggling from bad luck. His 4.04 SIERA isn't anything special, but it sure looks nicer than his 6.34 ERA, and his 13.1% swinging-strike rate suggests he should have more than a league-average punchout rate.

Still, whatever the reasons, a date with the Boston Red Sox and their league-low 17.7% strikeout rate probably isn't the best time to test the waters for the next bounce-back game. The numbers say things should improve, but wait for a better matchup before testing that theory.
