4 Daily Fantasy Baseball Players to Avoid on 5/31/17
Drew Pomeranz was strong in his last outing, but with a tough matchup against the White Sox, he doesn't make the cut on a loaded pitching slate. Who else should you avoid?

Following a string of lackluster performances, Drew Pomeranz finally showed he still has some upside with an 11-strikeout gem against the Texas Rangers in his last outing.

Still, despite a healthy 3.46 SIERA and 29.2% strikeout rate, he struggles to pitch deep into games. Including that last outing, he's only reached six innings in three out of nine starts. In fact, he's fallen short of five innings more often than that (four times). That's one creaky and dangerously low floor.

The Chicago White Sox certainly don't look like an intimidating opponent, but after putting up six runs (five earned) on fellow southpaw Chris Sale, maybe we should take their splits against lefties more seriously. The White Sox hold a league-leading 130 wRC+ against southpaws while striking out just 17.9% of the time.

With a laundry list of other high-strikeout options on the mound, the risk outweighs the potential reward with Pomeranz.
