3 Under-the-Radar Daily Fantasy Baseball Plays for 5/25/17
If he's in the lineup, Jett Bandy is a cheap way to fill your catcher spot on tonight's small slate, and he's facing a pitcher who has allowed a lot of loud contact to righties.

Michael Wacha, SP, St. Louis Cardinals

FanDuel Price: $8,700

Why He Will Go Overlooked:

For only a five-game slate, it certainly is filled with a surprising number of strong pitching options. Jacob deGrom, Justin Verlander, Robbie Ray and Kenta Maeda are 4 of the 10 starting pitching options, with each costing at least $9,000.

Just below that $9,000 threshold, Michael Wacha probably won't be heavily owned as he's facing the Los Angeles Dodgers on the road as an underdog.

Why You Should Use Him:

Wacha's start tonight is certainly not going to be an easy one -- he faces a Dodgers lineup that is strong against right-handed pitching. They rank sixth in team wOBA against righties at .338.

With that said, there are some reasons to be excited about this matchup, too. The Dodgers are still whiffing at a healthy rate 21.6%, and Wacha is regaining his strong past form. Over 42 2/3 innings pitched this year, Wacha has posted the second-best strikeout rate of his young career (23.2%) while posting his lowest walk rate as a major leaguer (7.1%).

Wacha's strong 3.85 SIERA is driven by a miniscule 23.3% hard hit-rate. While the Dodgers are a stiff test, there's plenty of room for upside, as fellow starters Lance Lynn and Mike Leake have shown in the first two games of the series.
