Edinson Volquez will be on the mound for the Miami Marlins tonight, and that gives a huge bump to the Los Angeles Dodgers' left-handed bats.

Volquez has seen his skill-interactive ERA (SIERA) get steadily worse over the past few seasons, and his 4.72 in 2016 and 4.89 through seven starts in 2017 are his worst marks since 2006. He has been especially lousy against left-handed hitters this year, getting cracked for a .399 wOBA, 5.44 xFIP and a massive 46.8% hard-hit rate.

Joc Pederson will likely draw the enviable spot of hitting leadoff against Volquez tonight, and while his production hasn't been great to start the year, he has a solid 35.3% hard-hit rate and 11.8% soft-hit rate against right-handed pitching, while his career .357 wOBA against righties inspires some confidence as well.
