4 Daily Fantasy Baseball Players to Avoid on 5/11/17
Pitching is wide open on tonight's FanDuel main slate, but it's still better to pass on Dallas Keuchel. Who else should you avoid in Thursday's MLB DFS contests?

For the first time this week, we don't really have a true "ace" on the FanDuel main slate -- or at least we don't in the DFS sense. That isn't to say there aren't plenty of viable options -- there are -- but there isn't anyone that gives you that calming feeling when you click the add button on a Clayton Kershaw or Max Scherzer.

The top options include Zack Greinke ($10,200) and Michael Pineda ($8,600), which might be hard to believe if you look at their numbers from last year, but they've been excellent so far in 2017. Michael Fulmer ($9,400), Gerrit Cole ($9,200), Marco Estrada ($9,000), and even J.C. Ramirez ($7,000) are all also off to good starts and are worthy of consideration.

The trouble is that most of these pitchers have unfavorable matchups. In fact, although Greinke may be pitching at home in hitter's paradise Chase Field, he could be one of the safer bets against the floundering Pittsburgh Pirates, who have an 82 wRC+ against righties. But it's close enough that you could argue going with any of the bunch.

Paying down could certainly have its benefits, as Coors is once again in play, along with attackable pitchers like Chase De Jong (5.90 SIERA), Phil Hughes (43.6% hard-hit rate), Martin Perez (5.23 SIERA), Bronson Arroyo (4.74 SIERA), and Ty Blach (5.5% strikeout rate).

That's a ton of options! So, let's narrow things down a bit, and go through four guys to avoid tonight.
