He's taking on a San Francisco Giants team with an ugly 65 wRC+ (the fifth-lowest in the majors) against left-handed pitching to open the season. The Los Angeles Dodgers are also the biggest favorites on the slate (-225 money line) while the Giants' 2.44 implied total is lowest, and nearly a full run lower than any other team.

If you're really looking hard for a reason to be apprehensive, the Giants have struck out at a below-average rate against southpaws. But with Kershaw sporting a 29.1% strikeout rate to open the year after posting marks better than 31.0% in each of the last three seasons, it's not like he offers any shortage of strikeout upside.
