4 MLB FanDuel Studs to Target on 4/18/17
Yu Darvish has some of baseball's best swing-and-miss stuff, and Oakland boasts a 23.3% strikeout rate. Which other high-priced fantasy options should be on your radar on Tuesday?

Max Scherzer, P, Washington Nationals

Price: $11,400

Our models' top-projected pitcher -- and likely the most popular arm on today's 15-game slate -- there's not a lot that isn't working in Max Scherzer's favor tonight.

The Washington Nationals are the second-biggest favorites on the slate (-172 moneyline) while the Atlanta Braves own the day's second-lowest implied total at 3.28.

Scherzer has posted strikeout rates north of 30% (30.7% and 31.5%) in each of the last two seasons while also posting walk rates (3.8% and 6.2%) that are below his career average. He has opened this season striking out 17 of the 51 batters he has faced, good for a 33.3% strikeout rate.

There are some potential weather concerns in this game -- you probably don't want to pay all the way up for Scherzer if there's significant risk of a delay -- but DFS weather wiz Kevin Roth says there could be "a potential (but not particularly likely) delay," and it's not looking like things will be too bad. Do make sure to keep an eye on the Atlanta weather before locking in Scherzer, though.
