5 Daily Fantasy Baseball Value Plays for 4/10/17
Even in what looks like a tough matchup against Tanner Roark, Matt Carpenter offers huge upside tonight. Who else should you target for big-time fantasy value on Monday?

Matt Carpenter, 2B, St. Louis Cardinals

FanDuel Price: $3,000

Matt Carpenter's matchup doesn't inspire a ton of confidence, taking on the Washington Nationals and dangerous righty Tanner Roark, but it isn't quite as bad as it looks on the surface, and Carpenter's salary is low enough that he can still offer a ton of value.

While his 2.83 ERA in 2016 was excellent, Roark's 4.32 SIERA indicates he likely wasn't pitching nearly as well. He had an especially hard time against left-handed sticks, allowing a decent 29.2% hard-hit rate and a 4.85 xFIP.

Carpenter crushed right-handed pitching to the tune of a 47.2% hard-hit rate with only an 8.7% soft-hit rate in 2016, slashing .271/.388/.532 with a .386 wOBA and .262 ISO. With his price tag down in this range, it would take a truly horrific matchup to take him out of play as a value option, and that's simply not what Roark represents.
