DraftKings Soccer: EPL DFS Helper for 10/30/21

We’ve got five games at 10:00 am Eastern on Saturday, with three of the best teams in the league on the slate. Here are the games, with odds via EPL odds:

Forwards to Target

Mohamed Salah ($12,300): Salah is the most in-form player in the Premier League at the moment and perhaps in the world. He leads the league with 10 goals, 3 more than anyone else in the league. He also has five goals in the Champions League over just three games.

Salah comes in with a higher salary than anyone else on the slate by nearly $2000 and not unreasonably.

While Manchester City are bigger favorites in their game, they are much less fantasy-friendly, and it's difficult to pin down exactly who to target from them. With Liverpool, Salah is clearly the best forward or midfielder, and the attack will go through him.

Salah is up to -200 to score at any time this season, something he's only failed to do once in the league this year. He stands out as the player with the highest ceiling on the slate.

Gabriel Jesus ($8,300): Manchester City have been hard to figure out exactly who to roster in the Pep Guardiola era, and that's even more true this season. Gabriel Jesus is definitely one of their best options, as he has produced in his new role playing out wide instead through the middle. Jesus has five assists in the league this season, more than the four he had last season.

Jesus comes at a $1500 discount from Riyad Mahrez, but he has produced more fantasy points per game, with 13.3 compared to Mahrez's 10.0. Jesus also has the best goal-scoring odds on Manchester City. City are -700 favorites at home against Crystal Palace, so Jesus should see a lot of the ball and a lot of opportunities to score fantasy points.

Cucho Hernández ($6,400): Hernández had a breakout fantasy performance for Watford last week. He had an assist, three shots, five shot assists, and eight crosses, leading to 20.5 DraftKings points. He took over the majority of corner kicks for Watford, and with how well things went, that should carry over to this week.

At home against Southampton is a pretty even match for Watford, who will likely be underdogs in most games they play. This is a great salary to roster Hernández, as if his production continues, that salary will rise in the coming weeks.

Others to Consider: Kai Havertz ($7,800), Dwight McNeil ($6,600), Che Adams ($5,700)

Midfielders to Target

Phil Foden ($10,500): Foden has potentially trumped Kevin De Bruyne as the Manchester City midfielder we want to target on every slate. Foden erupted for 44.5 DraftKings points last time out against Brighton, scoring twice and adding an assist. He also had eight crosses and took some corner kicks, as well.

With KDB not getting as many set pieces as he had in the past few seasons, his deeper role in midfield makes him less viable. Foden plays further forward and gets corner kicks, giving him a high floor/ceiling combination. He could be the best play on Manchester City, on a slate where you'll definitely want exposure to them.

Ashley Westwood ($5,900): Westwood is a classic floor midfielder, who comes in as a decent value on this slate. He's recorded at least eight DraftKings points in every game besides a tough matchup away to Manchester City.

This is an even matchup for Burnley at home against Brentford, and Westwood should be able to get his normal output of points. Burnley may not keep the ball, but they do cross when they have it. They rank only behind Liverpool in crosses per game in the league.

Westwood is a reliable player to put into your lineups, and he has upside through assists from corner kicks.

Mathias Jensen ($5,400): Fans who watched the European Championships over the summer might remember Jensen coming off the bench for Denmark. He generally performed well off the bench, and now he's making an impact in the starting XI for Brentford.

In the three games he's started, he's had at least 5 crosses, with 9 and 10 crosses in the last two games. Brentford have generally competed in most matches, and going up against the worst possession team in the league in Burnley, they won't be overwhelmed in this match.

Like Westwood, Jensen is another solid value play from the Brentford-Burnley game.

Others to Consider: James Ward-Prowse ($9,100), Jack Grealish ($8,900), Tom Cleverley ($3,700)

Defenders to Target

Trent Alexander-Arnold ($7,500): Alexander-Arnold continues to score more fantasy points than most players, regardless of position. He's scored at least 12 DraftKings points in every game this season. He's second in the league in crosses with 64 after leading the league in crosses in the past two seasons.

TAA is the second-best fantasy asset for Liverpool after Salah. We know that he'll get a lot of set pieces and cross from open play, which makes him a better play than some midfielders. Add in the fact that Alexander-Arnold would get a three-point bonus for a clean sheet, and it makes TAA the best play in this salary range at any position.

Charlie Taylor ($4,700): Taylor is not the most consistent crosser, but he has games where he gets a lot of balls into the box. He has games of 7 and 12 crosses this season in some of Burnley's easier matchups. This is a matchup that they should be able to compete in, which should mean Taylor can get forward and cross.

A lot of other players will never be able to get that many crosses, making Taylor a good player to take a chance on this week.

Adam Masina ($3,400): Masina has taken a few set pieces for Watford, including last week in which he shared them with Hernández. You won't find a set-piece taker at defender for this salary, so Masina is a fine play in all formats.

Others to Consider: Ben Chilwell ($7,700), João Cancelo ($6,000), Kyle Walker ($3,600)

Goalkeepers to Target

Ederson ($5,800): Ederson comes in $100 less than Alisson despite better win odds. He also carries much better clean sheet odds, with Manchester City's being -132 and Liverpool's just being +102. If you can allocate the salary at goalkeeper, Ederson is the preferred option.

Karl Darlow ($3,700): Darlow would be the keeper to take a shot on for Newcastle, who are at home against Chelsea. Chelsea will be without Romelu Lukaku and Timo Werner, so they'll be lacking firepower up front. Newcastle allow the fourth-most shots per game, so there will be opportunities for Darlow to get some saves, even if he might not get a win.
