DraftKings Soccer: European Championship Daily Fantasy Helper for Friday 6/18/21

The group stage is in full swing as we see three more games on Friday. Here's what we have on tap, with current odds from FanDuel Sportsbook:

Forwards to Target

Harry Kane ($10,500): Kane wasn't able to get much going in England's first game against Croatia, but that could easily change in this game against Scotland. England are overwhelming favorites and playing at their home stadium of Wembley, without having to travel between games. Kane won the Golden Boot at the 2018 World Cup for scoring the most goals and also did the same in the Premier League this season, so he's a prolific goal-scorer for both club and country. He'll come up against a lot of familiar faces from the Premier League on a Scotland side that will not be able to handle him. Kane is England's main penalty taker, which is baked into his lofty -160 any time goal-scoring odds. Those are by far the best on the slate, making him the clear top play at forward.

Patrick Schick ($8,000): Schick put on a show on Monday in the Czech Republic's first game. He had two goals, including a stunning strike from 54 yards out. That goal made all the highlight reels, but Schick's overall play was good throughout the game. He had six shots and five on target, as he was a consistent threat for the Czechs. This will be a tougher test against Croatia, but we saw in the first match of this group that Croatia aren't as strong of a team as they were when they finished as the runner-up in the World Cup three years ago. Schick can definitely threaten their defense, and with his willingness to shoot, he's definitely viable in tournaments.

Alexander Isak ($5,700): Isak was extremely impressive against Spain on Monday, nearly scoring and nearly setting up the only goal after beating three men and putting the ball on a plate for Marcus Berg who couldn't finish. Isak is coming off a great season for Real Sociedad, as he scored 17 goals in 34 league games. He was dangerous in the game against Spain despite Sweden having a minuscule 15% possession rate, according to WhoScored.com. That won't be nearly as lopsided again with Sweden being favored in this match. For just $5,700, Isak is a great value forward to put in your lineups on this slate.

Also consider: Raheem Sterling ($8,700), Emil Forsberg ($7,900), Bruno Petkovic ($7,300)

Midfielders to Target

Mason Mount ($8,200): The England-Croatia match was a strange one, as it didn't produce a ton of fantasy points for really any player. Mason Mount was able to get 7.1 DraftKings points while only taking one corner kick. That was the only corner England had in the match, so that's an encouraging sign that Mount will definitely have a role on set pieces moving forward. England should be able to dominate possession against Scotland more and that will lead to Mount getting forward and potentially more corners for him to take. Mount has one of the safer floors at midfield on the biggest favorite, making him an easy play.

Luka Modrić ($7,600): Modrić plays a different role for Croatia than he does for Real Madrid. He is relied on to provide more in attack for his country than his club. He tried to drive Croatia forward against England, with a shot on target and two shot-assists, but he wasn't able to help them win. Like Mount, Modrić took Croatia's only corner kick, so if they are able to get more than one in this game, he should be able to rack up some crosses. Croatia should have a better time against the Czechs, and it wouldn't be a surprise to see Modrić at the middle of it.

Ondrej Duda ($5,500): Duda is only midfield eligible, but is supposedly going to start up front, according to this projected lineup. He could get a goal from this position, as Slovakia have some capable attacking players who could get him in the ball. This would make him a decent value play at midfield.

Defenders to Target

Andrew Robertson ($6,400): Robertson was the bright spot for Scotland in their opening match. He had 14 crosses and 6 shot-assists, even as they lost 2-0. He took all but one of the Scots' corner kicks as well. We know that Robertson is one of the best attacking full backs from playing him in the Premier League with Liverpool, but being Scotland's best player means he's even more utilized in attack. This means you can still play him even in this tough matchup against England because everything Scotland does will go through Robertson.

Šime Vrsaljko ($4,700): Vrsaljko had a good game in fantasy against England, with seven crosses and two shot-assists. He has been known throughout his career as a full back who is willing to whip the ball into the box and should be able to do that even more against the Czech Republic in this game. His salary doesn't reflect how good of an attacking full back he is, making him the best play in this salary range.

Tomáš Hubočan ($3,200): Hubočan is there if you want to punt on a full back. He didn't have a great fantasy game on Monday, but was forward often and looked more lively than you might expect from a 35-year-old. If you need a salary punt, Hubočan might be a better option than playing a center back.

Also consider: Kieran Trippier ($5,700), John Stones ($4,200), Emil Krafth ($3,500)

Goalkeepers to Target

Jordan Pickford ($5,900): Pickford stands out above the rest as by far the biggest-favored keeper on the slate. He kept a clean sheet in the first game, and is a massive -154 favorite to do the same in this match. Keepers with much worse clean sheet odds have carried the same salary, so Pickford is actually a decent value in that regard.

Tomáš Vaclík ($4,300): Vaclík had a solid match in the first game, with five saves and a win with a clean sheet. The matchup is tougher, but Croatia really lack a goal scoring threat that would frighten a goalkeeper. If you have to play one of the three underdog keepers to save salary, Vaclík makes sense.
