DraftKings Daily Fantasy Soccer Helper for 3/6/21

The Premier League continues with a three-game slate on DraftKings on Saturday. Here's what games we have, with odds from La Liga odds:

Forwards to Target

Pedro Neto ($8,300): Neto has been a consistent performer for Wolves throughout the season. He's third in the Premier League in crosses with 177. This has led to great fantasy outputs, as he had recorded double-digit DraftKings points in seven of his last nine games before a tough matchup against Manchester City last time out. He's not a nothing in the goal production department, either, as he has five goals and five assists this season. Goals may be hard to come by on this slate, as no game is favored to go over 2.5 total goals. That means that we can get away with playing someone like Neto in tournaments, because even though he's unlikely to score multiple goals, ceiling games might not be necessary to win a tournament. Instead, you can lock in his floor and feel good about it all formats.

Danny Ings ($7,400): If you are looking for goals on this slate, your best best is with Danny Ings. He's the only player who is odds-on to score at any time on the slate. Southampton have been in poor form of late, but they face a Sheffield United side that are still in dead last in the Premier League table. The Saints are technically the biggest favorites on the slate, even if they are just +105 to win. Sheffield United have conceded the fifth most goals in the league and are also the third worst possession team, according to WhoScored.com. That should allow Ings to have opportunities to score and get back on track after a patchy run of form.

Willian José ($5,000): He didn't work out last week when we tried to play him, but Willian José's salary is low enough that we can take a shot again. His goal-scoring record in La Liga was very good. If he can replicate that to some extent, Jose won't see a salary this low again.

Also consider: Bertrand Traore ($8,200, if Ross Barkley doesn't start), Jamie Vardy ($7,800), David McGoldrick ($6,900)

Midfielders to Target

James Ward-Prowse ($9,000): Southampton's bad stretch has coincided with James Ward-Prowse not producing as consistently in fantasy as we have known he can over the past few seasons. He has had games with good results, though, particularly in games where Southampton can hold possession. This was the case in their last game against Everton, and Ward-Prowse had 15 crosses in that game. This should be the case against Sheffield United, as Southampton are the sixth best possession team in the league. Ward-Prowse has played 90 minutes in every league game this season, so we don't have to worry about him being subbed, barring injury. This just adds to his safety as a good floor player, and he can pop up with a free-kick goal when given the chance. He's the best midfield-only player on the slate.

Youri Tielemans ($8,100): With James Maddison out for Leicester City, Youri Tielemans becomes more fantasy relevant. That's because he steps into Maddison's role on set pieces. He's taken the second most corner kicks for Leicester with 42, with the third being Marc Albrighton with just 12. With this role, Tielemans is capable of great fantasy production without scoring or assisting, like he showed on Wednesday when he had 15.8 DraftKings points against Burnley. This makes him similar to Maddison, but the Belgian can be had for a $2,000 discount. He's probably just behind Ward-Prowse in terms of floor midfielders, and you should definitely try to pair them if possible.

Oliver Norwood ($4,500): Norwood has been a go-to punt midfielder for the last two seasons since Sheffield United got promoted to the Premier League. He leads Sheffield United in set pieces taken this season. He's also got decent recent form, scoring at least six fantasy points in each of his last four starts. That's really all you can ask for when playing a midfielder with this low of a salary, so Norwood is definitely usable this week.

Also consider: Ross Barkley ($6,200), João Moutinho ($4,900), Trézéguet ($3,600)

Defenders to Target

Ahmed El Mohamady ($5,100): Last Saturday, we hated the defender position. With many of the same teams on this slate, it's not looking great again. El Mohamady was a target last week, but he disappointed with just four points. He bounced back in the midweek game with 11.1 points. He averages four crosses per 90 minutes, according to Rotowire. That's one of the better rates of any defender on the slate. With Aston Villa being favored, they should be looking to attack, which would lead to El Mohamady getting forward more often. That is enough to make him one of the best plays at the position.

Enda Stevens ($4,000): Stevens had a higher salary than teammate George Baldock on Wednesday, until the latter picked up an assist on his only cross of the game. Now Baldock is $200 more than Stevens, which seems like an overcorrection. Stevens had been a better fantasy producer over the last handful of games and had a streak of four games with three or more crosses. With the opportunity cost of rostering a player like Stevens being very low on this slate, he's certainly in play for just $4,000.

Jonny ($3,400): Jonny is another affordable full-back we can play on this slate. He has played just five games this season after missing a lot of time due to injury, but he has cemented himself as Wolves' first choice left-wing back. His output hasn't been great, but he does play out wide and would be in position to cross should his team need it. He's a speculative play for sure, but at this salary, you can take a shot on him.

Also consider: Matt Target ($5,400), Ricardo Pereira ($5,000), Nélson Semedo ($4,600)

Goalkeepers to Target

Fraser Forster ($5,200): Forster got only his second league start of the season on Monday, but he could start again here. It would be a favorable matchup against Sheffield United, who have scored the fewest goals in the league. Forster is the keeper with the highest salary, but it has been depressed compared to the salary we normally see from the keeper on the biggest favorite. That's because Southampton's odds to win the game aren't that strong, but the matchup makes him good enough to play even as the highest-salary keeper.

Kasper Schmeichel ($4,600): Brighton are a dream for opposing fantasy goalkeepers. They average the seventh most shots per game (13.4), but they really struggle to score, with their 26 goals being the fifth fewest in the Premier League. They've scored just one goal across their last three games, but they have 20 shots on target in that time. This creates a high ceiling for goalkeepers facing the Seagulls, and it could help Schmeichel get into the 20-point range.
