Fulham vs. Southampton

Southampton to win +130

Southampton are off to a good start this season, as their 7W-3D-4L record is good enough to get them into seventh place in the EPL table. The Saints are winning 50% of their games against all competition in league play this season, so they should stand a good chance of winning against the current 18th-ranked team in the league.

Fulham are one of the weakest teams in the league this season and their 2-4-8 record puts them in 18th place. Fulham have only won/drawn 42.8% of their games this season, so there is good reason to believe they will struggle against the seventh-ranked team in the league.

Southampton should expect to gain three points from this match and getting them to win at plus odds is a good betting opportunity.

Aston Villa vs. Crystal Palace

Aston Villa to win -110

Aston Villa are 7-1-4 on the year, putting them in the top half of the table through their first 12 games and they even have games in hand on everyone else in the league. Villa are +8 in expected goal differential, ranking them fourth in the league in this category. Villa have been in great form recently, having gone 2-1-0 in their last three games and having outshot their opponents 59-23 during that stretch.

Crystal Palace have been decent this season at 5-3-6 but their expected goal differential of -4.1 ranks 16th in the table. Crystal Palace are not in great form, going 0-2-1 in their last three, including a 7-0 beatdown at the hands of Liverpool on Saturday.

Villa have won 58.3% of their games this season and appear to be a legitimate top half team. They should expect to win Saturday’s contest against this lackluster opponent.

Chelsea vs. Arsenal

Chelsea to win -105

Chelsea broke a two-game losing streak with their 3-0 win over West Ham last weekend, but even with their subpar form in recent weeks, it is clear the Blues are one of the top teams in the league this season. Chelsea have a +15 goal difference and a +10.5 expected goal difference and they are currently the second-highest in the league in both categories.

Chelsea face an Arsenal team that is 0-2-5 in their last 7 league games and the Gunners are quickly dropping towards the relegation zone. Arsenal’s -1.5 expected goal difference shows that while they are likely slightly better than their place in the standings suggests, it is still clear they nowhere near the caliber of the top teams in the league.

Chelsea should win this game fairly easily with the way Arsenal is playing and the Gunners would be very fortunate to get anything positive from this match.
