DraftKings Daily Fantasy Soccer Helper for 7/15/2020

Wednesday has another three-game slate as this strange Premier League season winds down. Let's look at the odds of the three games, courtesy of Soccer odd:

Forwards to Target

Gabriel Jesus ($9,300): Jesus had initially struggled since taking over for the injured Sergio Aguero but has produced very well in the last two games. He has a goal in each and had two assists in the last game. With Man City dominating possession, it has allowed Jesus to get 15 shots in the last three games. The matchup is perfect for Jesus and City against relegation-threatened Bournemouth. The Cherries have allowed the third-most goals in the league and the most from open play, according to WhoScored.com. Man City have scored the most goals from open play, and Jesus has the best anytime goal scoring odds on the team and on the entire slate. He's only the third-most expensive forward, though, making his $9,300 actually a pretty decent price.

Harry Kane ($8,500): Kane hasn't looked like the same player since recovering from injury to get back to action after the league restarted, and now his price has fallen to $8,500. He was able to produce a decent fantasy score against Arsenal without scoring or assisting because of his five shots and four shot assists. This spot sets up well for Kane to bounce back, as Newcastle are the worst possession team in the league and allow the third-most shots against per game. The betting odds still like Kane to score at anytime, giving him better than even money chance at scoring. He is a good player to buy the dip in price on for tournaments.

Dwight McNeil ($6,900): McNeil is one of our favorite cheaper forwards to target because of his high floor. He gets a share of set pieces for Burnley and also gets in crosses from open play. He was even able to get nine crosses in against Liverpool on Saturday despite Burnely having only 29% of the possession. They should see more of the ball in this game, which should mean even more crosses for McNeil. He's one of the better plays at his price point at the forward position and fits well into cash game lineup builds.

Midfielders to Target

Kevin De Bruyne ($11,000): It's a Manchester City slate, so that means you have to consider Kevin De Bruyne. He didn't contribute to a goal in City's 5-0 win but still managed 15.6 DraftKings points in 64 minutes on the pitch. He did so through seven crosses and five shot assists. By this point in the season we all know what De Bruyne brings to the table. He has the second-most crosses in the league to go with the most assists and 11 goals. With Manchester City being -800 favorites over Bournemouth, KDB should be able to eat in this game. With as high of a floor as we've seen from him, he is a lock in cash games and a very tough fade in tournament settings.

João Moutinho ($6,200): Moutinho has struggled to produce in his last handful of games, and his price falling all the way down to $6,200 reflects that. If you dig a bit deeper, some of the struggles have been beyond his control. In the last match Moutinho started, Wolves only got one corner kick against Sheffield United. That destroyed most of his fantasy value in that match. In the next game against Everton, he was on the bench and only came in as a substitute for 12 minutes. Moutinho still ranks seventh overall in crosses despite the recent slump. Burnley have allowed the fourth-most crosses and also have the second-worst possession rate in the league. This is a game that could see Moutinho return to the solid fantasy floor player we have known him to be in the past.

Ashley Westwood ($4,700): Westwood is a similar play to Moutinho in the sense that he doesn't offer much besides taking corner kicks, but unlike Moutinho, he doesn't own a near monopoly. Also going against him is the fact that his team are known for a more defensive style and are underdogs in this game. Still, you could do a lot worse than playing Westwood for $4,700. He was able to cross the ball eight times in a tougher game against Liverpool, so he is capable of having good games while playing as an underdog. Westwood is significantly cheaper than Moutinho and is perfectly fine as a punt play on this slate.

Defenders to Target

Serger Aurier ($5,600): Aurier has started every match for Tottenham at right back since the league started up again and has shown his usual mercurial talent. We don't really have to worry about the mistakes in his game as fantasy players, so we'll just take his attacking upside. He has 23 crosses in his past five games. Now, he gets to face the team that allows the most crosses per game in the Premier League. The defender position doesn't have some of the top options that we are used to seeing, but Aurier has significant upside in this matchup, especially if Spurs can get back on track and score a few goals.

Charlie Taylor ($4,100): Taylor is a cheaper play at defender who has shown upside as of late. He had eight crosses and assist last week against West Ham and has four crosses in each of the two games prior. Overall, he averages over four crosses per 90 minutes, according to Rotowire. He's one of the cheapest full backs on the slate who will actually cross, making his $4,100 not too tough to swallow.

Goalkeepers to Target

Ederson ($5,900): Ederson is coming off back-to-back clean sheet victories and now is a massive favorite once again. The opposing side, Bournemouth, are tied for the fourth-fewest goals in the league. Man City are favored to keep a clean sheet again, meaning Ederson is very likely to get at least 10 points in this game.

Nick Pope ($3,900): Pope is the cheap goalkeeper we can target on this slate. Since a tough match began the restart of the league for Burnley, they've conceded just two goals in five games, with three clean-sheet wins for Pope. Burnley are a solid defensive team who typically don't concede many goals, making Pope relatively safe for a keeper who is below $4,000.
