FanDuel Premier League Value Plays for Matchweek 13

Alex Iwobi and Everton have a great home matchup against Norwich City, making Iwobi one of this week's top value plays.

Value plays are often the difference on the FanDuel leaderboard. With this year's format, value plays will be priced at $12 or lower in most cases. There will be some exceptions along the way.

This article will cover FanDuel's main slate that begins Saturday at 10:00 a.m. EST.

Matchweek 13
Saturday, November 23
Wolverhampton at Bournemouth
Southampton at Arsenal
Leicester at Brighton
Liverpool at Crystal Palace
Norwich at Everton
Burnley at Watford
Chelsea at Manchester City

On a large slate with many of the top teams included, pricing is inflated, so finding value plays under $12 is more difficult than it might seem. Sadio Mane ($23) is the most expensive player on the slate, with five players priced at or above $20. The most expensive defenders, Ricardo Pereira and Trent Alexander-Arnold ($16), have been at the top of the list before. The top-priced keepers are Alisson and Kasper Schmeichel ($15).

There are 391 players to pick from on this slate with an average salary just over $10. Only 36 players priced at or below $10 are expected to start. Let's see where the value lies in Matchweek 13.

Alex Iwobi, Everton ($12)

Everton are home after the break against Norwich City, the team sitting in last place. The Toffees have failed to take points in only two of six home games, with one against Manchester City. Meanwhile, Norwich have lost three in a row.

Iwobi is in competition with Theo Walcott ($11) for the starting role on the ride side of the midfield and was sent to the bench in the last matchweek. However, Iwobi ended up with more shots, one fewer cross, just as many fouls drawn, and one more tackle than Walcott in just 16 minutes. Iwobi struggled a bit against Tottenham the previous week, but against the likes of Burnley and Watford, he had at least four crosses in each game.

His tendency is to play better against bad teams, and that currently describes Norwich. They have lost their last two games by a score of 2-0, seeing only 42% possession against Brighton and failing to score despite being up a man for 30 minutes last matchweek.

Fabinho, Liverpool ($10)

Liverpool have been owning possession against most opponents, and that should be no different against a floundering Crystal Palace side. Palace average under 45% of possession. That helps Fabinho get more involved in the offensive side, although much of his production will be defensive. He had a stretch of five straight games with a chance created earlier in the season. He had his best match of the year last time out, scoring a scorcher of a goal versus Manchester City.

In his last four matches across all competitions, Fabinho is averaging nearly four combined tackles and interceptions. He has also drawn a foul in three of the last four games. Fabinho is playing well, and it will be interesting to see what he will do for an encore to his cracking goal.

Abdoulaye Doucoure, Watford ($10)

Last matchweek was the first in four in which Doucoure failed to create at least one chance. Despite a lackluster offensive showing in Matchweek 12, he did not forget his defensive responsibilities in his box-to-box role. He has had at least one tackle in every game and has contributed 14 tackles over the last four. He has a total of 25 defensive actions in the last four games.

Burnley's inability to hold the ball and the fact they allow a touch more than 13 shots per game give Doucoure more appeal. Admittedly Doucoure is a flyer pick as Watford have struggled to score all season, but this should be an open game between two teams in the relegation zone.

Steve Cook, Bournemouth ($12)

Bournemouth continue to sit deep and take pressure while preferring to attack on the counter, with Cook providing consistent play on the back line. He has scored at least 14.3 points in each of his last five games. He now averages over 16 FanDuel points per game. Cook has recorded at least seven clearances in seven of the last eight games. Bournemouth have three clean sheets in their last four matches. Wolves have been playing well lately, but their games have been close to the vest, with Wolves scoring one goal in three of the last four. It is a good situation for Cook to continue his solid play.

Kurt Zouma, Chelsea ($11)

The match against Manchester City should prove to be a measuring stick for a surging Chelsea team. Zouma is in his most consistent stretch of the season when it comes to DFS, scoring at least 14 points in four of his last five games. He is earning most of his points through clearances and interceptions, with tackles, fouls drawn, and blocks sprinkled in. Zouma is also passing the ball well this season, averaging close to a 90% pass success rate. He is winning a touch more than four aerials per match in the Premier League. This game is being played at Manchester, and City should see a lot of the ball, meaning Zouma should be busy.

Dan Burn, Brighton ($10)

Brighton will face immense pressure from Leicester's attacking players as Leicester have scored the second most goals in the league. Burn has the most average points of any healthy or eligible Brighton defender. He has a clearance and a tackle in every match but is providing a variety of stats for the team. Burn is averaging over six defensive actions per match. Leicester build the majority of their attack on the right side, so Burn will be active. The Leicester attack can explode in this match, which would not help Burn. However, his reliable contribution makes him a good play.

Jordan Pickford, Everton ($12)

As stated above, Everton have a chance to control the pace of the match against Norwich. The Canaries have failed to score recently, and Pickford is generally priced higher. Pickford has struggled a bit this season, but he did have a clean sheet for England against Montenegro in Euro qualifying last week. He did not face many shots, but it should help with his confidence as he moves back into the Premier League. Everton are a heavy favorite, with a clean sheet as the top odds for a final score. On paper, everything is in Everton's favor in this one.

Rui Patricio, Wolverhampton ($10)

Wolves have moved up the table in the last six weeks, but they have failed to see a clean sheet through in most cases. Patricio has made three saves in each of the last two matches as a part of Wolverhampton's resurgence. Although the odds still have this match close, the line has moved slightly in the favor of Wolves. Odds also expect a low-scoring game. Patricio earned two clean sheets for Portugal over the international break.
