Johann Berg Gudmundsson, Midfielder, Burnley

Salary: $7,000

Liverpool and Chelsea form an interesting combination of elite sides whose midfielders are likely to be higher-owned than their forwards. With Sadio Mane ($9,500), Mohammad Salah ($12,500), and Eden Hazard ($11,500) as options, paying up at midfield will be a popular lineup construction this weekend. That should lead to a couple of value forwards being high-owned, notably Burnley's Chris Wood, who has scored in each of his last two matches and is facing Fulham.

Opting to include a forward from Liverpool or Chelsea and pay down at a midfield spot for Johann Berg Gudmundsson instead of paying down for Wood should create a lineup that avoids a high-owned midfielder and a popular value forward. Gudmundsson has been hit-or-miss this season and recently saw his corner kick duties reduced, but he still has open play value. In his last match against Huddersfield, he took four shots and put two on goal.

Fulham has improved against non-elite sides under Claudio Ranieri, but they have been horrendous on the road this season, allowing a league-high 28 goals in 11 matches. With 21 goals in 21 matches, Burnley is averaging exactly one goal per match so far this season, tied with Southampton for sixth-lowest in the Premier League. However, they have scored two goals in each of their last two matches and at least one goal in each of their last four, which improves Gudmundsson's outlook for this weekend.
