Chicharito, Forward, West Ham

Salary: $11,000

Usually, a forward with 48 career Premier League goals, who is only one game removed from a two-goal performance, would be a potentially popular option. However, due to his inflated price and the presence of his teammate Lucas Perez ($6,500), Chicharito should fly under the radar this weekend.

After his brace against Newcastle last Saturday, Chicharito's salary has increased massively. He is now the seventh-most expensive forward on the slate, tied with Romelu Lukaku ($11,000), and the most expensive forward not on an elite side. With the number of elite alternatives available, there is no value in Chicharito's salary. What he loses in salary he gains as a leverage play against his extremely low-priced teammate, who scored a brace of his own against Cardiff on Tuesday. If Perez starts, he will be an extremely popular value play, while Chicharito goes overlooked in an identical spot, despite having a brace of his own less than a week ago.

Crystal Palace has been average on the road defensively this season, allowing 12 goals in 8 matches. However, 10 of those 12 goals have come in their last 5 away matches, which include losses Bournemouth, Everton, and Brighton. On the other side of the pitch, West Ham has won their last two home matches against non-elite opponents by a combined score of seven goals to three. At his high salary, Chicharito is a risky play this weekend, but his matchup and likely low ownership make him an intriguing option for tournaments.
