Handling unfair trades as a LM
I'm basically looking for any ideas from keeping roster dumping type trades happening towards the end of the year. This became an issue last year in my league and looking for ways to prevent it this year. Any advice is betterthan none. Thank You!

I'm a first year commissioner in a league that has always had this same problem in the past, so I'm looking forward to any other answers you get to your post. The first thing I decided was that letting the owners vote to veto a trade just doesn't work as it takes too many aware owners that actually care at that point in the season to stop an unfair trade. So, I've changed it to LM Only votes, but for every trade request, I plan on having three uninvolved owners give input (if I'm not involved in the trade, it will be me and two others) and that will be the LM vote. Also, since my league has pretty much the same owners every year, I plan on giving the bad teams incentive to play out the string. For example, I'll give the owner that wins the consolation bracket of non-playoff teams the first choice at draft position the following year. As well, the owner that comes dead last in the consolation bracket will be responsible for getting the champions' name engraved on our trophy (sure, it's only like $5, but there's probably some humiliation factor in there too). I don't know if any of this will work, but I thought I'd give it a try.

Relying on votes and communicating thru league emails like u said is diffcult. I took to texting last year when push came to shove. I did come up with an idea that each individual player is worth a price, like auction type leagues, so to make a fair trade the total value would have to be relatively close. I could see this being a problem when trading 2 players up for one. Nobody would tade Bell for two subpar players. So I'm basically trying to configure some sort of system that way.
