Who do you think is the best RB ever?

    In my lifetime (my first football memory is the Bears\Patriots Super Bowl), Barry Sanders without a doubt. I could see Adrian Peterson coming close if he has a couple more years like the one he just had, but for now Sanders stands alone. I like some of those others that were listed (Payton, LT, Dickerson, Faulk), but Sanders was far and away the best RB of the last 30 years. Of course, the old school guys will throw in Jim Brown, Gale Sayers, and others and I can't really argue against an era I don't really know all that much about.

    ever has to be Sanders imo.. great runner, hard to tackle and even catch... had great numbers and only RB to retire on his terms unharmed.. like that the most. He was his team.. If he had not retired early he would be top in rushing yards and rushing td's in my eyes.

    Sanders is certainly up there, along with guys like Emmitt Smith, Walter Payton, Ladanian Tomlinson, Eric Dickerson, and others. It's incredibly difficult to make a clear choice, but if AP continues on like he did this year for the next 3 to 5 years, I think it'll be difficult to keep him from getting a great deal of consideration as possibly the greatest RB ever.
