Trade: Andre Johnson and Ryan Matthews for Torey Smith and Doug Martin. Who won?
I approved this trade for a team that I had taken over for an owner who quit competing. There is now a new owner. He got Smith/Martin. Did I screw him?

i disagree with the majority here, i like the martin side better...mathews is made of glass just like last night with the ankle plus brown and battle get touches left and right. Andre has been a frustration all yr. At least martin is a lead back with blount not being very scary at all..torrey is boom or bust, but with bal defense being so banged up, they might have to throw it a lot more now.

Whoever gets Mathews/Johnson is getting a better deal. I would rate Andre higher than Torrey Smith since Smith has only had one good week.

For Martin v. Mathews, the situation is a little more complicated. The Bucs just lost Carl Nicks for the year, and Martin has had the most success running behind him. With that in mind, I'd rather own Mathews for the rest of the year.

You didn't screw them at all. I am not sure I would personally make that deal for my team, but this deal is deeper than the names on the surface. Andre/Matthews appears sexier bc of name value. But (depending on format) they are averaging about 7.5pts and 9pts respectively. Whereas Smith and Martin are averaging 9.25 and 13pts respectively. Martin's average is a bit inflated bc a blow up vs Min and Smith bc a blow up vs NE, but even if you remove those games the averages still benefit the Smith/Martin side slightly. It is not a bad deal at all.

Thanks, Billy. Those are the numbers I looked at when evaluating. This site's projections going forward are helpful too.

I honestly think Andre is much much better than Torrey, and Martin has just a little more value than Mathews. Whoever got Johnson and Mathews won in my opinion.
