Keep, Trade?
Hey All,

I play in a 20-Team, 25-player active roster (with 5 season-long Minor and DL slots that don't count against the 25) dynasty league. We keep 20 players each season. It has 13 head-to-head "Batter" scoring categories. I currently have Tim Anderson, JP Crawford and Trevor Story at SS. With only 1 SS and 1 Utility slot, I don't see myself being able to keep all 3 forever. Who would you keep and who would you trade now? In terms of timeline, I'm a fringe playoff team right now and will become a perennial playoff team in about a year or two. So I don't need to win now, but I do need to win soon.

Thanks!

Crawford and Story are the better players. I'd try to deal Anderson. He's hitting with power so far, but Anderson doesn't have much of a track record of power in the minors. Story may never again have a stretch like he did earlier this season, but he's going to get to play half his games in Coors and should be able to hit about 20-30 jacks per year -- which is incredibly valuable as a SS. Crawford, by all accounts, is going to be a very good player. He derives some value from his defense, which doesn't help in fantasy, but he's been a top-rated prospect for a while and has produced at every level.

With all that said, I think you could get more in return if you dealt Crawford or Story. Even though I think Crawford will be the better player, Story would probably be the most attractive trade piece right now since he's done it at the big-league level. If you're not concerned with 2016, I'd probably start by dangling him and seeing if anyone is willing to blow you away with an offer.
