Ordinarily an easy decision
Brees vs SF or Dalton vs Oakland...Honestly never thought to sit Brees but I do like Dalton's matchup.

I'd go w/Dalton. SF will exploit NO's so so 0-Line w/blitzes/stunts up the A gap. One place where Bree's lack of height hurts him.
Plus Oakland D is just awful

Obviously Brees has a poor matchup, and Dalton has an incredible one. But, if you were to rank defenses by points allowed to QBs, Brees has faced a couple of above-average ones (@GB, @DEN, ATL) and done well. In reality, the Saints don't usually run much. Heck, their RB1 has more receptions than rush attempts! Then consider that OAK has a poor rush D too. So, the game plan might be to get BJGE the ball a lot while he's hot. If this game becomes a blowout, which is much more likely than the SF-NO game, then Dalton might not throw many passes, accumulate too many yards (<300), pass for more than a TD or two, or even all of the above. I vote Drew Brees.

SF D is beatable through the air.. Brees should find some openings.. Honestly though.. I like both these Qb's Dalton has done extremely well and is a great back-up to plug in on match-ups that look scary like this one for Brees. You can feel confidant with which ever one you choose.

Sam Bradford had a good game against them, but when else has the SF defense allowed a QB to beat them in the air?

well true.. there was Pinder who threw 2 td's and 198 yards and Eli who only threw for 193 yards and 1td, Stafford threw for 230 yards and a td + 1 int. Rodgers week 1 303 and 2 td's +1 int.

I'd take Brees all day. It'll be a close game and he'll have to put up good numbers to keep the Saints in it. It's a must win for New Orleans.

Brees!! I love Dalton's matchup and he will post nice numbers vs Oak but I'd never put a weapon like Brees on the bench. Brees must be started!! Good luck!!
