John Carlson, Capitals agree to 8-year extension
Washington Capitals defenseman John Carlson has signed an 8-year contract extension.
What It Means:
Carlson's new deal is worth $64 million for an annual average of $8 million per season. The 28-year-old recorded a career-high 15 goals and 53 assists last season.
Carlson led all defensemen in scoring during both the regular season (68 points) and playoffs (20 points).
