Tampa Bay Lightning center Steven Stamkos (knee) isn't expected to play Thursday despite a very productive practice on Wednesday.
Stamkos spoke very positively about Wednesday's practice and it sounds like his return is imminent. Head coach Jon Cooper upgraded Stamkos' status to day-to-day. Look for the 27-year-old All-Star to be back in time for Tampa Bay's showdown with the Boston Bruins on April 4. The Lightning are currently three points behind the Boston for the second Wild Card spot in the Eastern Conference.
Stamkos has nine goals and 20 points through 17 games this year while recording a pair of career-highs with a 56.7 Corsi For Percentage and 9.1 Relative Corsi For Percentage at Even Strength.
