Carolina Hurricanes netminder Cam Ward will draw the start on Friday as the Canes host the Colorado Avalanche.
Ward has struggled this season, going 21-17-6 with a 2.62 goals-against average and .905 save percentage -- his second-lowest mark in his last nine seasons. He has a good chance to bounce-back tonight though, as he takes on an Avalanche squad with the worst offense in the NHL (1.98 goals per game).
Ward is numberFire's top-projected fantasy option on Friday's short three-game slate. Our models project him for 23.8 saves, 2.0 goals against and a 71.0 percent chance of scoring a win.
