Montreal Canadiens defenseman Andrei Markov (lower body) won't return to the lineup on Tuesday against the Anaheim Ducks.
Markov was unable to participate in the morning skate and remains day-to-day following Saturday's injury. Head coach Michel Therrien expressed optimism the 37-year-old would be able to return on Tuesday night, but perhaps he'll be back on Thursday for a home date with the Minnesota Wild.
Markov is averaging 21:49 minutes of ice time per contest this season, his lowest total over the previous nine healthy campaigns (Markov was limited to 20 games during the 2010-12 seasons). He has 21 points (19 assists) in 31 games this season, with a career-best 54.3 Corsi For Percentage and 3.9 Relative Corsi For Percentage at Even Strength -- well above his 0.7 career-average.
