Michal Neuvirth

Michal Neuvirth in starter's crease for Philadelphia

Philadelphia Flyers goalie Michal Neuvirth is expected to be between the pipes on Wednesday versus the Detroit Red Wings.

What It Means:

Neuvirth gave up three goals on 29 shots in a victory over the Carolina Hurricanes on Sunday, but it's been a rough start to his 2016-17 campaign. He's been tagged for 3.84 goals a game while saving only .861 percent of the shots he's faced. Steve Mason doesn't present much of an upgrade for the Flyers, though, so Neuvirth will get the call again Wednesday against a Red Wings franchise that hasn't won in Philadelphia since the 1996-97 season.

Neuvirth is one of numberFire's preferred goalie options for Wednesday's short three-game slate with a 57.0 percent chance of earning a victory. We expect him to make 25.89 saves on 27.87 shot attempts.
