Jimmy Howard racks up 32 saves in Red Wings' win
Detroit Red Wings goaltender Jimmy Howard turned in a strong performance on Wednesday, allowing only one goal on 33 shots as the Red Wings beat the New York Rangers 2-1.
It was an impressive first start of the season for Howard, who only managed a .906 save percentage and 2.80 goals against average -- both his worst marks in any full season -- in 37 games last year.
Despite the good start, our models expect another rough year for Howard, projecting him for a .900 save percentage and 2.82 goals against average.
